Double Gold, China Wine & Spirits Awards 2024

The wildly popular Black Label Shiraz 2022 may well be one of Australias best value Shiraz releases. Crafted by Daniel Amadio, this multi-regional South Australian blend draws fruit from the Barossa, McLaren Vale, Langhorne Creek and Riverland, delivering a bold yet balanced, fruit-driven style designed for immediate enjoyment.

It opens with classic aromas of plum, dark jam and rhubarb, lifted by subtle hints of vanilla. The palate is layered with dark forest fruits, complemented by mocha and spice from 16 months in French oak. Fresh acidity and polished, firm tannins provide structure, leading into a rich, full-bodied finish with impressive depth and length.

What sets this wine apart is its vibrant fruit purity, smooth texture and underlying freshness. Approachable yet expressive, it pairs effortlessly with grilled meats, slow-cooked beef, chargrilled vegetables, hearty pasta dishes and aged cheeses perfect for everyday drinking or weekend entertaining.

Created to showcase fruit-forward, finely balanced and highly drinkable wines, the Black Label range consistently overdelivers. This release is no exception, earning 90 Points from Wine Pilot (Ken Gargett), a Silver Medal at AWC Vienna, and a Double Gold Medal at the 2024 China Wine & Spirits Awards.
