Handy Sazerac Rye is the uncut, unfiltered cask-strength expression of Buffalo Trace’s storied straight rye whiskey program and the most powerful, unapologetic entry in the Buffalo Trace Antique Collection. Named for the New Orleans barman who popularized the Sazerac cocktail, Handy is a whiskey that commands attention from the first pour.

Each vintage is released once a year at varying proof, typically among the highest in the Antique Collection. The color is a deep, burnished amber. The nose is explosive cinnamon, clove, black pepper, and dried citrus peel over a rich undercurrent of vanilla and caramel. On the palate, the full proof rye character is bold and assertive: waves of baking spice, dark fruit, toasted grain, and a long, fiery finish that is as complex as it is memorable. This is rye whiskey at its most uncompromising.
