“La Parde Haut-Bailly” is a true second wine and one of the first such wines to be made. Created in 1967, it was originally called “Domaine de la Parde” then in 1979, its name was changed to “La Parde de Haut-Bailly” and simplified in 2011 to “La Parde Haut-Bailly”. Made from the grapes of young vines and the best press-wine, it is aged in barrels for twelve months and subjected to the same rigorous selection controls as the first wine.
Over time, La Parde Haut-Bailly has developed its own special personality, displaying a pleasant silky texture on the palate and achieving a style of charm, elegance, and refinement. Although its softness and forward aromas mean it can be drunk sooner than Chteau Haut-Bailly, it nevertheless has good aging potential.

Tasting Notes:
(2006)The 2006 vintage of La Parde de Haut-Bailly has a deep, bright, ruby-red colour and plenty of aromatic purity on the nose, showing hints of black fruit and well-integrated oak. It is fairly close to Chteau Haut-Bailly thanks to its elegant, well-focused style. Due to its refined, mild tannin, 2006 La Parde de Haut-Bailly is already quite accessible and will be in superb form in five to ten years.

(2008) Low yields and a late year are a strong indication of excellent quality. La Parde de Haut-Bailly 2008 is showing tremendous subtlety and smoothness. This is an enjoyable wine with a harmonious structure. The powerful, well-integrated tannins will make very pleasant drinking from 2015.

(2016)La Parde Haut-Bailly 2016 shows an exceptional level of selection for a second label. In this 2016 vintage, it stands out for its impressive density and structure, as well as a great aromatic finesse. It offers an attractive floral perfume, followed with juicy dark fruits. It is a soft and powerful wine, with silky tannins which come together to showcase Haut-Baillys signature qualities of both balance and elegance.
