The Vat 8 Shiraz Cabernet is sourced from Shiraz grown on Tyrrells Ashmans property and Cabernet Sauvignon grown on the Pokolbin Hills Estate. This is a modern style of Australian red that also respects the tradition of using varietal blending to create a more rounded wine. The Shiraz brings intense plum fruit sweetness and dark berry and chocolate characters, while the addition of a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon adds length and body.

The Tyrrell familysassociation with the grape began with Edward Tyrrell in 1858. Today his legacy lives on through the fourth and fifth generation of the family who collectively manage one of Australias oldest and most highly regarded wineries. Tyrrells has grown over a century and a half to become one of Australias most prestigious winemakers.
