Kabinett is the first step of the Predicate System and can only be used for off-dry or sweet wines. Kabinett wines are usually off-dry or sweet. As of this coming year, you can not produce a dry Kabinett or any other predicate wines. A predicate wine has to have residual sugar. In addition to that, you won’t find a Village Kabinett. Only an Estate/Gutswein or Single Vineyard/Lagenwein Kabinett.”
