Siduri, named for the Babylonian goddess of wine, is the result of its founders’ mutual love of Pinot Noir. The winery’s first release in 1994 was met with great critical success and paved the way for a 25-year pursuit of Pinot perfection. Siduri specializes in cool-climate Pinot Noirs from regions spanning Sta. Rita Hills to Willamette Valley. They’ve built long-term relationships with the region’s most sought-after vineyards and winegrowers. Siduri’s breadth and depth of Pinot Noirs are truly unique. They produce more than 20 limited production Pinots and have one of the most extensive Pinot offerings of any California winery. Siduri helped define the style of modern day California Pinot and they epitomize the bold style of California Pinot that emerged in the late 1990s. Wine Spectator’sMatt Kramer declared, “To taste Siduri is to taste some of the best Pinot Noir made in America today.” The 2020 Siduri Anderson Valley Pinot Noir is full of pleasure and hard not to love. It displays dark fruit and structure. It has bright acidity at the front of the palate and a full, juicy texture. This Pinot has aromas of nutmeg, cinnamon, pomegranate, black plum, boysenberry and mushroom. It has fine and focused tannins. It’s a big, but well-balanced wine. On the palate, there are flavors of black cherry, black currant, tart red plum, raspberry, red currant, forest floor and black tea. This wine is mouth-filling and lively. Enjoy!

“Ripe red and black berry fruits show the aromas of this Anderson Valley bottling with lots of Edmeades Vineyard fruit. This area was the birthplace of Siduri when Adam Lee conceptualised it. The palate is marked by ripe fruit and spice; the black tea character shows along with a Christmas spice carrying to the ripe finish.”

Winemaker Notes:

“The Siduri Anderson Valley Pinot Noir comes from three vineyards in Anderson Valley. The dark, concentrated fruit was cold soaked for an average of four days, followed by a mix of punch-downs and pump-overs during the length of fermentation. Aged for 15 months in 35% new French oak, this wine has aromas of warm oak spices such as nutmeg and cinnamon, followed by pomegranate, black plum, fresh boysenberry, Portobello mushroom, chestnut, sage, chamomile, and forest floor. The flavors include tart red plum, raspberry, and red currant. Bright acid leads at the front of the palate with a full, juicy texture in the middle. Fine and focused tannin adds length to the finish.”
