Jancis Robinson,
“Mid cherry red. Deep aroma of pure dark-red fruit and subtle oak spice. Open and inviting. Firm, smooth tannins. Generous, sweet fruit balanced by lively acidity, the alcohol well hidden. Good length.”
Vinous,
“The 2019 Vosne-Romane Village comes from all the domaines parcels except for La Colombire. This has a fragrant bouquet of rose-petal-tinged dark berry fruit. The 40% new oak is nicely integrated. The palate is medium-bodied with grainy tannins, a little simplistic compared to some of the top performing Vosne-Romane Villages, yet certainly fresh and balanced with a sapid finish that beckons you back for another sip.”
Winemaker Notes:
“At first whiff, it is clear that one has left the Nuits appellation with this Chezeaux wine. The fruit here is dark, with regal notes of truffle and lavender. The texture is softer and more fruit-forward than his wines from Nuits-Saint-Georges, and the tannins are a bit finer and more forgiving, a complex village level wine that punches way above its weight.”
Alcohol: 13%
