“The 2022er Wolfer Goldgrube Riesling Kabinett was made from early harvested fruit at 81 Oechsle on old vines in the Jon sector of the vineyard and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar. This offers a superb and still slightly yeasty nose made of pear, herbs, spices, citrusy elements, green apples, and smoke. The wine is superbly playful, zesty, and multi-layered on the palate and leaves a great sense of tart citrusy elements in the long and crisp finish. The aftertaste is still on the tart side. This hugely impressive Kabinett now only needs a couple of years to reveal its full potential. The lightness, depth, and precision are already remarkable.”
