“James Maclan shares the unique expression of Pinot Noir from vineyards throughout the Russian River Valley. This sustainably grown Pinot Noir was hand leafed and hand harvested to preserve the delicate profile of the fruit. This lower alcohol wine was partially whole cluster fermented, aided by indigenous yeasts, to bring authentic flavors of the vineyard to your glass.

Maclan selectedHogans Run Vineyardfor this Pinot Noir to achieve a flavor profile rich in red fruit, allowing the source to shine. The vineyard is located close to Russian River and is perfectly situated on an east-facing hillside. A blanket of morning fogs helps the fruit ripen slowly and the hillside protects the fruit from afternoon heat. The fruit is exclusively Pommard clone and was aged for 10 months in 50 percent new and 50 percent neutral French oak barrels. The wine reflects its terroir with aromas of red cherry, mushroom and vanilla.”
