“This stunningly elegant riesling kabinett exists in a delightful no-mans land that lies somewhere between bone dry and frankly sweet. The vibrant acidity of the vintage somehow manages to be very polished on the super-sleek and salty palate. The hint of caramelized pear character adds to the wines charismatic personality. Sustainable. Drink or hold.”

“The 2023 Schonfels Kabinett N111, as it is referred to in the central part of the label, was made from fruit harvested at 78-79 Oechsle in this steep, south-east facing Lieu-Dit overseeing the Saar, and was fermented down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (50 g/l). This hay-yellow- colored wine offers a beautiful nose made of grapefruit puree, barbeque herbs, and whipped cream. The wine develops the subtle creaminess of a Sptlese paired with the tart raciness of a Kabinett on the palate. This sensation of a mouthwatering Sptlese carries over right into the juicy and comparatively multi-layered finish. This is a gorgeous fruity-styled wine in the making but one which will benefit from some bottle aging.”
