DESCRIPTION
Nestled in the small town of Eicho Beppu, south of Kagoshima, Akayane Craft Distillery is the brain child of Satasouji Shouten.
Aiming at spreading the culture of shochu to the world, they produce a wide range of shochu which fascinate both shochu lovers and beginners. A 2018 collaboration with Distillerie Mette starts a new page in Akayanes book with the first release of a range of Japanese gins using a shochu base.
TASTING NOTE
Shochu (sweet potato based) infused and distilled with: shimeji and maitake mushroom, kabosu, sweet potato peel, vanilla, juniper berry. Enchanting note of wild mushrooms and vanilla with a hint of Kabosu citrus aroma. Reminds of Autumn (Aki) in Japan. Also good for hot gin.
