A blend of 78% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Verdot, the 2020 Ferran is aging for 12 months in French oak barrels, 30% new. The alcohol is 14%. Medium to deep garnet-purple in color, it features fragrant notes of kirsch, preserved plums, boysenberries and raspberry coulis, plus hints of spice cake, licorice and garrigue with a waft of cracked black pepper. The medium-bodied palate is elegant and spicy, offering a soft texture and seamless freshness, finishing savory.

This estate is close to Bordeaux. The blend of Merlot with touches of Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot has produced a wine with dark cherry and vanilla aromas. Its ripe fruits, juicy and dense, are full bodied and still young. Drink from 2026. Roger Voss

Blackcurrants, licorice, spearmint, rust and bark on the nose. Its medium- to full-bodied with firm, chewy tannins. Compact and flavorful, if a little rustic in tannin texture. Needs to soften. Try in 2025.
