DESCRIPTION
Chteau de Valcombe, family owned since 1749, is the southernmost estate in the Costires de Nmes. Close to the Mediterranean Sea and planted on soils boasting the highest concentration of limestone in the region, the wines of Chteau de Valcombe are refined, concentrated and display exuberant freshness.

Following the Second World War, the estate was inherited by Charles Ricome, who replanted most of the vineyards and was among the first to plant Syrah in the appellation.

In 2007, Chteau de Valcombe was invited by the former French President, Jacques Chirac, to supply wine to the lyse Palace. This is the first time that a Southern France winery has received such an honor. It shows that Chteau de Valcombe has been recognized in France.

TASTING NOTE
Inky black with powerful nose of ripe black fruit, mocha and coffee, enhanced with a hint of rustle. In the mouth, the melted, clean and expressive aromas are dominated by black fruits. The tannic structure is broad, dense, rich but always sweet. The very long finish is surprisingly fresh for a wine of such concentration.
