The phrase Oregon producers keep using to describe 2018 is A Gift from Nature. The season started right at the long-term average of April 15. The summer had many warm and hot days, but we transitioned into cooler Fall weather before harvest began but that weather was beautiful during the day. This gave beautiful, ripe fruit with natural acidity as well as great complexity from sufficient hangtime and lignified stems. The Pinot Noirs have full color and rich, sweet tannins. One of the more full throttle Oregon vintages but still balanced. Wines at all price points have complex aromas and palates with nice linearity and age worthiness.
