Independent Scotch whisky distillery The GlenAllachie reveals its new peated single malt Scotch whisky brand – Meikle Tir (pronounced mee-kuhl tor) – in 2023.

Spearheaded by celebrated Master Distiller, Billy Walker, a figure behind GlenAllachies rise to global acclaim. They have earned numerous awards, including the hotly contested World’s Best Single Malt title at World Whiskies Awards (2021).

Meikle Tir, which means big pursuit in Gaelic,, represents Walker and his expert teams relentless seasonal peated campaign at The GlenAllachie, which began in 2018.

Meikle Tir The Sherry One, 5-year-old – Made using mainland peat from St. Fergus, to deliver a more sweet and oaky smoke in comparison to the flavour contribution of a coastal peat; the sweet phenolic content of the Single Malt whisky amounts to 35 PPM. A lengthy fermentation period of 160 hours results in a thick, fruit-forward spirit that lends itself perfectly to ageing in the finest Sherry oak.
