Old Charter Oak French Oak Kentucky Straight Bourbon

Old Charter Oak is Buffalo Trace Distillery’s barrel finishing series a collection of Kentucky straight bourbons finished in rare, alternative wood barrels that impart distinctive flavor profiles beyond what traditional American white oak can offer. The French Oak expression takes Buffalo Trace’s well-aged straight bourbon and finishes it in French oak barrels, a wood variety celebrated in the wine and cognac worlds for its tighter grain, subtle tannins, and ability to impart elegant fruit and spice notes.

The result is a bourbon that bridges the worlds of American whiskey and European oak tradition familiar in its Kentucky straight bourbon foundation, yet distinctly refined by the influence of French oak. A compelling and approachable expression for both bourbon enthusiasts and those who appreciate the nuance of wood finishing.
