Situated in Santa Barbara County, Sea Smoke Cellars is a California-based winery with a special emphasis on crafting exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines. The estate was founded by Bob Davids in 1999 and its production is still relatively small. The name Sea Smoke was inspired by the cooling marine fog that blankets the vineyards along the course of the Santa Ynez River. The 2021 Southing Pinot Noir reveals notes of strawberries, cherries, purple flowers and baking spices.

‘There are expert levels of integration going on throughout this bottling, starting with the subtle yet persistent aromas of raspberry, cranberry, potpourri and light sagebrush that continually draw in the nose. The palate’s firm texture elevates the cherry compote, citrus rind and strawberry cream flavors, with a lingering sense of violet painting the corners. This will be exciting to watch for years.
