The 2022 Turley Cellars Zinfandel Pesenti Vineyard is a remarkable representation of the depth and complexity that the Zinfandel varietal can achieve. This California wine hails from the Central Coast, specifically the Paso Robles sub-appellation within the broader San Luis Obispo region, known for its robust, full-bodied reds.

The color is a beautiful, intense red hue, a testament to the ripeness of the fruit and the warm, sunny climate of the vineyard’s location. On the nose, you are greeted with a medley of dark fruit notes, including blackberries, black cherries, and plums, intertwined with a hint of earthy, spicy undertones that give the wine its layered complexity.

Upon tasting, the wine’s elevated alcohol content of 15.6% is balanced by a firm acidity and a solid tannic structure. The palate is a reflection of the nose, bursting with ripe, juicy dark fruits, but with added nuances of pepper, mocha, and licorice, leading to a long, smooth finish that leaves a lingering impression.
