“Early to be looking at Pinot Noir from 2019, even before the year has closed, but I guess demand for the bang-per-buck offerings from Wickhams Road necessitates early release. Anyway, I most often get to these wines before CM and MB, being a man of the people and all. Theres usually some to and fro on which is better Gippsland or Yarra but either way, the wines rarely let you down. Unlike CM and MB.
Rich and spicy, dense and firm in structure with a cinnamon spice and floral perfume over ripe cherry and raspberry. Its full of flavour, with depth of fruit and a sappy dried herb undertow. Finish offers perfume, succulent fruit, a subtle amaro bitterness, and fine length. Its a very strong release here, with more to come.”
