“The 2022 Chardonnay Nichols Ranch emerges from 40-year-old vines at the base of Sonoma Mountain. Rich and phenolic, the 2022 is terrific. It captures all the natural intensity of shot Wente Clone in this distinct part of the Sonoma Valley AVA. Lemon confit, marzipan, tangerine and white flowers fill out the layers. This is such a gorgeous and alluring Chardonnay. Tropical overtones extend the finish.”

Wine Spectator, 92 Points

“Aromatic and sleek, with notes of lemon balm, lemon oil and orange blossoms giving way to a core of lemon meringue and mango flavors on a juicy, succulent structure. Hints of ginger, lemongrass and candied citrus peel linger. Drink now. 152 cases made.”

Winemaker Notes:

“A throwback in style and texture. Saline aromatics that are complemented with dried pineapple, jasmine and acacia. The palate is medium in weight, with acidity that focused on enhancing the wines overall texture.”
