• Wine Advocate: Produced from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon coming from a vineyard in the relatively cooler AVA of Coombsville, the opaque purple-black colored 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Farella Vineyard reveals notes of spice cake, star anise and cloves over a core of warm plums, red and black currants and black olives, plus a hint of iron ore. The medium to full-bodied, taut, firmly structured palate gives up vibrant fruit and a long, mineral-laced finish.

• Jeb Dunnuck: From a cooler site in Coombsville, the 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon Farella Vineyard tastes like the essence of Cabernet Sauvignon. Pauillac-like notes of crme de cassis, lead pencil shavings, crushed rocks, and cedar all emerge from this full-bodied, focused, gorgeously pure 2015 that tastes like a great vintage of Latour. Its one of the more fresh, focused, backward wines in the lineup so hide bottles for a few years. One of the most thrilling tastings I was able to do for this report, these incredible wines from Realm are made by the talented Frenchman, Benoit Touquette. These are true blockbuster, magical wines I wish every reader could taste.
