With a hundred years of existence under its belt, Alella Vincola began in 1906 as an agrarian union cooperative. That same year, architect Jeroni Martorell, a disciple of Antoni Gaud, built the Modernista-style cellar. The 1920’s and 1930’s saw the rise of Marfil, the flagship brand of the cooperative, a cava savoured by King Alfonso XIII.
In 1998, the old union became the company Alella Vincola Can Jonc, S.L., which undertook the modernisation of all the processes under the leadership of the Garca Muntan family. Marfil and Ivori, are obtained from the 150 hectares controlled by Alella Vincola, both from vineyards owned by individual wine producers, old members of the cooperative, as well as vineyards acquired by the family.

Tasting Notes:
Amber colour with orangey highlights. Dried fruit (toasted almond, hazelnuts) nose, sweet chocolate and toffee notes. Dried fruit flavour with wood and smoked elements. Refreshing acidity. Long, intense and pleasant finish.

The Wine Advocate:
The NV Marfil Generos Sec Solera 1976 is a fortified white produced with Xarello grapes locally known as Pansa Blanca, aged in a solera system started in 1976, and therefore a non-vintage wine. Bright orange-colored with a nose of hazelnuts and an oxidative whiff, it is very dry in the palate, with pungent flavors amplified by the 16.2% alcohol. It comes through as a little warm. 1,500 bottles filled per year. Drink now-2020.
