Chteau Lafon-Rochet is a winery in the Saint-Estphe appellation of the Bordeaux region of France. The wine produced here was classified as one of ten Quatrimes Crus (Fourth Growths) in the historic Bordeaux Wine Official Classification of 1855.
The Chateau has 41 hectares planted with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The vines used for the First Wine are at least 35 years old, the oldest some dating back to 1938, which yield less fruit but lend greater complexity to the wines.
The Chateau has been owned by the Tesseron family, 2021 was thelast vintage produced by them. It is nowacquired by the real-estate billionaire Jacky Lorenzetti families, who is the owner of chteaux PdesclauxLilian-Ladouys and d’Issan.

(Robert Parker’s rating: 90 points)
The purity, freshness, and sweet, rich, blueberry and boysenberry fruit and hint of pen ink that are found in this opaque purple-colored wine are impressive. Massive in the mouth, with freshness, delineation, and sweet tannin, it is a major sleeper of the vintage that should last for 25+ years. (Issued in 2010, drink date: 2020-2035)
