en Chenevery au Clos Solon (premier cru) Morey Gevrey D974

Domaine Mo-Camuzet is a wine producer in Vosne-Romane, Cte de Nuits, known for its acclaimed wines from Grand Cru vineyards like Richebourg and Gevrey-Chambertin... Their Pinot Noir is characterized by delicate aromas.

Founded by politician Etienne Camuzet, the estate was acquired by Jean-Nicholas Mo in 1986, who worked to reclaim land from sharecroppers for estate-grown fruit and his own label, Mo-Camuzet.

Henri Jayer, a prominent Burgundy producer, farmed the land for about 40 years before retiring in 1988 and advising Moon reacquiring his vines. Mo-Camuzet now has 14 hectares (35 acres) of vines, including part of the famous Cros Parantoux Premier Cru.

The vineyards are farmed as organically as possible, though Mo-Camuzet opts not to be certified to manage vines as needed per vintage. In addition to Grand Cru wines, the estate also produces Premier Cru and village-level wines.

AOC Morey Saint Denis, Cote de Nuits, Bourgogne

Country of Origin:
Burgundy, France

Type:
Red/Rouge (Still)

Grape Variety:
Pinot Noir

13%

Terroir:
There are two plots, one situated ‘en Chenevery” and the other “au Clos Solon”, two lieux-dits in the centre of the village, just below the premiers crus. An excellent situation, therefore, for a village appellation: Morey shares with Gevrey the characteristic of having plots classified as village appellations on the eastern side of the D974.

Tasting Notes:
This ruby-hued wine offers a harmonious balance, showcasing a refined profile characterized by flavors of red fruits and spices, complemented by a lively acidity. The finish is both enjoyable and enduring. Its captivating bouquet reveals delicate notes of fruit, floral elements, and spices, creating an exquisite aromatic experience.
